A class/lab balance is maintained in all programs of study at Tysons College. It is important to understand that considerable outside class research, reading and homework are required and necessary in order to maintain satisfactory academic progress.
Tysons College reserves the right to administer oral examinations when such testing has been determined by the Director of Education. Oral examinations are graded on the same basis as written tests and projects.
Behavior of students will reflect standards of courtesy, integrity and honesty. Students must assume full responsibility for their actions to ensure that their conduct meets the standards of Tysons College. A student may be terminated for conduct reflecting discredit on the student the school.
Abusive and foul language will not be tolerated. Drugs, alcohol and firearms are not permitted on Tysons College property. Students attending class under the influence will be subject to dismissal, as will excessive absenteeism, failure to meet financial obligations, improper conduct, and non-compliance with Tysons College rules.
Perfect attendance is expected of a student just as an employer expects perfect attendance of his or her employee. Any student who repeatedly is absent from classes cannot hope to benefit from the instructor's knowledge.
If the student knows that he/she will be unable to attend class, it is the student's responsibility to notify Tysons College . It is also the responsibility of the student to make up the work that has been missed. However, classes cannot be made up. Staying up with ongoing class work and passing regularly administered tests are necessary to attain the prescribed objectives of the program. The student should be prepared to take any test upon his or her re turn as shall the student be ready to hand in any project or course work. All work must be completed prior to being considered for any certificate.
Tysons College maintains attendance records for all the students. Those records shall become part of the student's official file and could be used for reference justification.
A student will be considered as a drop if the student notifies Tysons College in writing that he/she has dropped. If the student fails to notify Tysons College, the student will be terminated no later than seven days after the last day on which the student actually attended Tysons College.

Students have the rights to appeal administrative and academic decisions handed down by Tysons College. Complaints and grievances may also be presented for resolution. Every complaint must be in writing and dated when it was submitted. Tysons College will keep all complaints confidential. Under some circumstances, a release may be needed in order for a complaint to be properly investigated and resolved in a timely manner.

Assessment of the students' progress will be based on a variety of testing methods, which are suited to the subject and the material being learned. Tests are frequently updated and tailored for each course.
Students may utilize Tysons College equipment, when it is not in use by scheduled classes, with the approval of instructors. Care must be taken when using any equipment. Students are responsible for leaving classrooms in a neat and orderly condition.
Tysons College has a counselor to handle any crises, concerns, or special circumstances which may arise. Matters beyond the scope of the staff will be referred to various agencies.
Tysons College makes every effort to advise individual students with regard to transportation, employment, college choices, and other circumstances which may otherwise distract the student from his or her education. It is important for the student to know that Tysons College staffs are available to talk to the student about any problems that may need to be discussed.
Educational, personal, and financial matters are readily available for consultation or discussion. All programs have periodic academic advising with regards to attendance and satisfactory academic progress.
Regular, but unannounced fire and emergency drills are held to ensure safe evacuation of the building. Follow the evacuation plan listed in each area. A sprinkler system is installed throughout the Institute.
If a student is involved in an accident or suffers an unexpected illness, Tysons College will call for medical assistance and provide emergency and protective first aid only. If an accident or illness occurs that requires the student to be sent to a doctor or a hospital, the student's immediate family will be notified. If unable to notify the family, emergency vehicles will be summoned at the student's expense. Tysons College also recommends HTH student health insurance to all international students. Information regarding the health insurance can be obtained from the school advisor.
The institute's policy is to remain open whenever possible. If snow or other weather conditions are so severe that Tysons College must be closed, the students will be notified.
Unless further announcements are made, classes will resume on schedule the following day. Students are to assume responsibility for their own safety when making decisions to attend class during inclement weather.
Each individual is responsible for personal articles brought to Tysons College . Money, purses, books, lunches, etc., cannot be the responsibility of Tysons College .
Tysons College requires every student to keep the Institute informed as to his/her actual residence and telephone number while in attendance, as well as after graduation. Changes temporary or permanent should be reported promptly to Tysons College .
